Long ago, before the fall of the Starstone, when the Veduran Forest stretched from the World’s Edge Mountains to the Lake of Mists and Veils, the elves built an outpost far to the north in what is now the northern River Kingdoms. When they fled Golarion at the onset of the Age of Darkness, the elves abandoned this outpost as they did so many others. Centuries later, after their return, they found that while humanity had overrun much of Avistan, the Stolen Lands had become a wilderness untouched by both elf and human. Moved by this, they left their ancient keep abandoned, and in the ensuing centuries even the elves forgot about it.

Although over ten thousand years old the original elven keep still stands, its graceful towers reaching for the sky. The magic that has preserved it is fading but is being strengthened again with the elves return. The scars left by the multitude of interlopers that have lived there are being healed and the wilderness around it is being shaped by elves and fey to achieve its former glory.

Lanliss Gyre has sent word to Kyonin and other elven settlements, telling of the refounding of Kyonin. The elves attracted so far are mainly members of the Folorn but many are also from house Gyre itself. Half elves are also welcome and can hope to find the acceptance that is missing from so many elven territories. Fey are also being encouraged to shift to Kyonin’s parks, surrounding areas and dwellings. Their pranks, while harmless, are often directed at human visitors.
